Introduced in 1989 by Elizabeth Taylor, Passion is soft, oriental, woody fragrance. This feminine scent blends jasmine, bergamot, and rose, and is accented with tuberose, vanilla and musk. Smouldering!
I hated this in the bottle. I would never have tried it in a shop, but I had a bottle that I got as part of a multi-pack of mini fragrances (yes, me and my minis, again!), and I thought I'd just try it on my skin to be fair. I suspect this may be one that really grows on me after a couple of wearings (like Vivienne Westwood's Boudoir did).
This is most definitely an Oriental. It's got a sort of exotic spiciness to it, particularly in the opening notes, which come on pretty strong. This is a "big" fragrance, very 80s (you know, big hair, big shoulders, big earrings, big perfume), and it's just the sort of thing I'd imagine Elizabeth Taylor wearing. And despite all that, I find that I kind of like it, particularly when the strong top notes have faded into the more floral heart notes.
To my nose and on my skin, this fragrance has a sort of incense type scent to it. It's a bit smoky-sweet, with lingering floral notes. Very interesting, to say the least.
This is not a fragrance to be worn by young women, unless they're very unusual young women. It's really much more suitable for older women, women with a good deal of confidence, and women who aren't afraid of wearing a "big" fragrance. This isn't as showy as some fragrances, but it's still a strong, noticible perfume, so wear judiciously.
